Meet Alyssa

I'll start with my last name: it's pronounced Lou-eye-jee and it's Belgian.

I love books, travel, salty snacks, sour beers and all things caramel. I live in the N. Cincinnati suburbs, but was born and raised in Cleveland until I was 16 1/2. I have a business degree from the University of Toledo, and after starting my career in human resources and corporate benefits, I have been working for a small mental health nonprofit since January 2013. I LOVE working in the nonprofit world, and can't imagine going back to "Corporate America".

I've been married to my spouse, Mark, since 2000, and have two teen children - you'll see me refer to them as "K" and "C" here to respect their privacy. K is the oldest and C is 3 years younger. For the most part, I LOVE having kids who are teens. I will take it all day, every day over the baby/toddler stage. Praise Jesus for teens who can drive themselves (and sometimes their sibling) places on their own!
